Families enjoy splash pad to cool off in hot temperatures

SPOKANE, Wash. - Families have been hanging out at the splash pad in Riverfront Park as a way to beat the heat and get through this week's high temperatures.

Vendors are also parked in the area and are capitalizing on the July heatwave.

As you can imagine, selling frozen treats on a hot day is incredibly lucrative.

Alloe and her dogs sold frozen treats all day Saturday, greeting the customers with furry friends. Despite being in an ice truck, Alloe said it's still a challenge to stay cool.

"We've got a fan in the truck, and I get as much ice cream as I want cause I own the company. But it's definitely hard to stay cool. And we are worried about them because they've got ice packs in the truck as well," said Alloe.

She also mentioned how busy the weekend has been so far. Most kids and families love to stop by and pet the dogs and end up sticking around for a delicious sweet treat.
