Suspect who injured seven police officers, one police dog in crash Friday was buying fentanyl, court documents say

SPOKANE, Wash. - The woman who crashed into an armored police vehicle and hurt seven officers last week was out buying fentanyl, court documents claim.

According to the documents, Keiana Michelle Henry, 21, drove to a gas station with her boyfriend and another person on July 19 to buy fentanyl powder. After buying the drugs, she parked so the three could use the drugs.

Henry's statement to police said when she started driving again, she passed a police car. The car turned on its lights and followed Henry.

Henry was driving fast toward the intersection, according to the documents, and crashed into an armored police vehicle.

Seven officers were injured in the crash. One officer had a broken vertebra.

Officers on the scene said Henry had a felony warrant for her arrest at the time of the crash.

Henry was arrested Friday evening for vehicular assault and attempting to elude a police vehicle. She was booked into Spokane County Jail for the charges and the felony warrant.

During her court appearance Monday, it was revealed the warrant was out of Kootenai County for assault with a deadly weapon and attempt to elude police stemming from an incident in November of 2023. A warrant has been out for her arrest since February.

Documents said Henry was driving more than double the posted speed limit when the crash happened.

The two other people in Henry's car were not booked into jail for the crash.

Henry's bond was set at $200 thousand.

SPD said all seven officers plus a police dog are resting and recovering from the crash.
