Food & Wine Tasting to benefit Police Foundation

SPOONER — The Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Food & Wine Tasting is set for Thursday, April 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Burch Barn in Spooner, and this year’s recipient of the fundraiser is the Spooner Police Foundation.

People can enjoy food from local restaurants, tastings of wine and beer and a raffle and silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Police Foundation, which is a nonprofit formed in August 2016 to provide support to the Spooner Police Department and grow its bond with the community. The foundation solely funds the K9 Program in the City of Spooner through donations and contributions, and supplements the city budget by providing extra training and certifications and tactical gear to ensure safety.

The monies raised will help continue the foundation’s outreach activities such as the Right Track Program, National Night Out, the Scholarship Program and other community and youth initiatives.
