SHELL LAKE – Shell Lake Dramatic Intensity will present “Night of the Living Beauty Pageant” this week. Performances are at the Erika Quam Theater at 605 First St., Shell Lake, will take place on Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 12, at 2 p.m.

The comedy is directed by Chris Waldron.

Steve Bentley and Joe Allen (played by Nolan Miller and Spencer Palmer), two down-on-their-luck hucksters, are producing a beauty pageant in order to raise the money needed to make their blockbuster film.

There are many problems – their stage manager wants to quit, they have five contestants instead of the 500 they need and they owe money to everyone in town! Toss in the disgruntled theater owner, a local mob boss and a reporter who seems like something more than what she seems.

With all that is going on, what could go wrong?

Is the big night going to be a night of beauty and talent, or will it be the night from ... er, "Night of the Living Beauty Pageant"?
