    Lakes Conference June 21

    SPOONER — The 2024 Northwest Wisconsin Lakes Conference will be held Friday, June 21, from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Spooner High School.

    The day begins with resignation and continental breakfast, followed by a 9 a.m. welcome. Zoie Babcock will be the youth keynote speaker on “Climate Change in Wisconsin,” followed by keynote speaker Tom Fitz, Northland College, on “Geologic History and Setting of Lakes in Northwest Wisconsin.

    There will be four breakout sessions. The first will be presentations on limnology, fisheries and habitats and more. The second will talk about macroinvertebrates, lake surveys and grants. The third will feature the value of lake water quality, communications strategies and more. The final session will talk about lake creatures and science.

    There are registration fees for regular attendees with lunch provided, student attendees with lunch provided and exhibitor tables (lunch and presentations not included).
