Jack Pine Savage Days this weekend

SPOONER — The Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce is asking everyone to “vote for Jack” at the annual Jack Pine Savage Days festival set for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2-3, in downtown Spooner.

Spooner Memorial Library will be hosting a Where’s Jack Scavenger Hunt both days around town. The entertainment tent opens at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the Front Street parking lot.

Other events Friday throughout the day include the annual Used Book Sale, presented by the Spooner Women’s Club in Centennial Park; the Crazy Days Sidewalk Sales & Art & Craft Fair on Main Street; Yoga Under the Tent presented by Michelle Hodgkins of the Body Shop Fitness Center; food booths by the Boy Scouts, Spooner Area Youth Hockey Association (SAYHA) and Vera’s Snack Shack; the Bookmobile with books and crafts offered on Front Street; and in the tent, the Spooner-Trego Lions Club family bingo and live music by the Otis Plum Experience and Hollywood Boulevard.

The fun continues Saturday, starting with the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Fire Station; the SAYHA Power Play 5K starting at the tent; a sake, bloody Mary and mimosa bar presented by Rummel’s Tap; the sand volleyball tournament on the Roundhouse Road courts; a car, truck and bike show presented by K&J Polishing and Detailing on the corner of Front and Pine streets; the Jack Pine Savage Mountain Bike Race by Spooner MTB at the high school and City Park; bean bag and horseshoe tournaments behind the tent; the Lakeland Family Resource Center Rubber Duck Race on Yellow River; and live music by the WISCO Kid and Solvy Sr and Good For Gary.

The Used Book Sale, Crazy Days, the food booths and Bookmobile visit also continue Saturday.
