Events at the library

SHELL LAKE — A cartographer is someone who makes, draws or creates maps. Join us at Shell Lake Public Library Monday, Aug. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. for a drop-in craft of making maps. Whether it’s your favorite town, a place you created or from your favorite book, we will have all of the necessary supplies. We will have both white and brown paper, markers, crayons and colored pencils available.

Shell Lake Public Library is excited to host Story Hour with Embrace. Story Hour with Embrace will be a three week program — you are welcome to attend one, two or all three! Story Hour with Embrace will be Thursday, Aug. 8, 15 and 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Our first story hour is Moody Cows Meditate. We will have an accompanying craft of calming jars and a snack. This story hour is great for kids between ages 3 and 10.

Fun for the whole family! Join us Friday, Aug. 9, from noon to 4 p.m. as we tie dye at the library. Each participant will get one white shirt from the library. All dye and necessary supplies will be provided. RSVP to the library to reserve your shirt. Weather-permitting, we will be outside for this event.
