Washburn County Fair names Bundt Cake winners

SPOONER — Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Bundt Cake Baking Contest. There were so many different flavors to celebrate the “Come on Home” theme of the Washburn County Fair that the judges found it difficult to choose the winners.

In the adult category, Katie Lechnir earned a first-place rating with an Old World Bundt, second-place with a Lemon Raspberry was Cindie Bischoffer and in third place with another Lemon Raspberry was Jan Hoge.

Junior division first place went to Leila Johnson and her fishing-themed Bundt, Elizabeth Zwisler took second with her Pineapple Upside Down Bundt. In third place was Liberty Weideman and her very Dark Chocolate Bundt.

The top three cakes in both categories were auctioned off at the Livestock Show & Sale Saturday evening and raised over $900 to support our youth through scholarships and building improvements.

The 2025 Washburn County Fair is set for July 24-27 and will include another opportunity for you to show off your baking skills with a baked cheesecake contest. See you at the Fair!
