Events at the library

SHELL LAKE — The Silent Book Club will be meeting Monday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Shell Lake Public Library.

Silent Book Club is a great way for adults who are enthusiastic about discussing books and authors to meet other enthusiastic readers. The first half hour is reserved for discussing current and recent reads. The second half hour is for reading in the library, perusing the shelves, but is normally a continuation of our lively discussion. If able, let the library know ahead of time what book(s) you will be discussing so we can have it available for other members to check out. Light refreshments are provided by the library.

Our final Story Hour with Embrace is Thursday, Aug. 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Shell Lake Public Library. Our book will be “Words Are Not For Hurting.” We will have an accompanying craft and a snack. This is a great book to help get us ready for going back to school. The recommended age for this story hour is 4-7 years old.

Kids and teens are invited to join us Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to noon for Lego Club! This is the last Lego Club of the year. We will have all the Legos needed to make your imagination come to life.

It’s almost school time! Come celebrate the final days of summer at Shell Lake Public Library. Tweens and teens are invited to join us Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. for games. We will have board games, card games and the Wii available. Tweens and teens are welcome to bring their favorite game. Pizza and pop will be served. RSVP to the library for this AODA event.
