Rails Homecoming Week taking shape

SPOONER — Spooner will celebrate Homecoming week 2024 Sept. 29-Oct. 4. Here is what is scheduled at this time.

Sunday, Sept. 29: He-Man Volleyball and Powder Puff at the school, starting at 6 p.m.

Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1: Students will be decorating the downtown windows, as well as decorating the hallways of the high school, from 1:14 to 3:17 p.m. On Monday, middle school volleyball plays at Ladysmith at 5 p.m. and C team football hosts Cumberland at 6 p.m. On Tuesday, cross country runs at Timberland Hills; middle school football hosts Chetek/Weyerhaeuser at 5 p.m.; varsity soccer hosts Barron at 5 p.m.; volleyball plays at St. Croix Falls — C team and JV at 5:30 p.m., varsity at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 2: Parade floats will be constructed in the afternoon from 1:14 to 3:17 p.m. Also Wednesday, the girls golf team hosts the Varsity Regional at Spooner Golf Club, starting at 9 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 3: Spooner soccer hosts Cumberland at 5 p.m. Middle school volleyball plays at Rice Lake at 4:30 p.m. Volleyball hosts Chetek/Weyerhaeuser — C team and JV at 5:30 p.m., varsity at 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 4: We will be hosting pep rallies at the elementary and middle schools in the morning, time to be determined. The high school pep rally will be in the afternoon, as well as the Homecoming Parade; both those times are still being hammered out. Homecoming royalty will be announced. At 7 p.m. the Spooner Rails football team will host Barron, with the Homecoming Dance to follow.
