The United States national team entered the Paris Olympics as the overwhelming favorite to take home gold in the men's basketball tournament.
The team passed each of its tests with flying colors despite some close calls in the knockout stages against Serbia and France.
After group stage wins over Serbia, South Sudan and Puerto Rico, the Americans moved one step closer to the podium with a rout of Brazil in the knockout stage. Throughout the tournament, Team USA's depth has unsurprisingly been its biggest strength, with different members of the talented roster stepping up each game.
LeBron James won the MVP award for the tournament, but Stephen Curry actually was the team's leading scorer thanks to his outbursts in the USA's semifinal and final wins over Serbia and France.
