Jayson Tatum's mom upset with coach Steve Kerr after benching her son again

Boston Celtics superstar forward Jayson Tatum’s mom went on X today after he was benched once again in Team USA’s win over Serbia. While she didn’t say anything, she reposted a tweet about her son and Team USA coach Steve Kerr.

The tweet said “If Kerr is watching this and willingly deciding ‘yeah, Jayson Tatum couldn’t help here’ then he legitimately cannot coach in 2028.”

This is referring to how while the US did win, they only did it by the skin of their teeth. At one point in the game against Serbia, they were down 17. They only won due to a fourth quarter comeback and the efforts of LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Joel Embiid.

Tatum, who is a reigning champ of the NBA, not being able to play because Kerr didn’t let him is definitely weird. Especially for the second time against Serbia, which started this whole controversy in the first place.

Tatum is an MVP caliber player with multiple playoff records, and not seeing any floor time at all is quite insane. Coach Kerr better have a good reason to not play him, as Tatum definitely could have helped, as he is a great rebounder and scorer, the two things that were causing the USA to lose because they weren’t excelling at them.

Hopefully, Kerr will give an answer to fans on why he didn’t play Tatum.
