A former Miami Dolphins starter has landed with the Seattle Seahawks as training camps continue.

This week, former Dolphins center Connor Williams signed with Seattle, officially ending any idea that he could reunite with the team that helped him excel through a position change.

A 2018 second-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys, Williams joined the Dolphins in 2022 on a two-year, $14 million contract and switched positions to center. He wound up as the only member of the offense to play 100 percent of the snaps that year while allowing just three sacks.

Williams then appeared on pace to log an even better 2023 before suffering an ACL tear late in 2023.

Miami responded by keeping tabs on Williams as he rehabbed but also covered all angles by signing Aaron Brewer, formerly of the Tennessee Titans, in free agency. That was one of Miami’s biggest outside additions of the offseason, checking in at $21 million over three years for the veteran.

Williams rehabbed and saw his market predictably heat up, taking a visit with Baltimore before signing in Seattle.

Notably for the Dolphins, the Willaims news hit at right about the same time Brewer suffered a hand injury of unknown severity in practice.
