Jim Harbaugh reveals Chargers' starting QB for NFL preseason game vs. Seahawks

Tomorrow night Seahawks football will return to your local TV. New head coach Mike Macdonald will be taking his team on the road to face his old boss, Jim Harbaugh - who's now head coach of the Chargers, fresh off winning a national championship at Michigan. ( Harbaugh will be suspended if he returns to the college ranks over recruiting violations). Of course, Harbaugh's last gig at the NFL level was 10 years ago as head coach of the 49ers, where he was a part of the most-thrilling rivalry in the league at that time against Richard Sherman and the peak Legion of Boom era teams.

Following Thursday's training camp practice for LA, Harbaugh spoke with reporters and revealed at least some of his lineup plans for Saturday night's preseason game against the Seahawks. With superstar quarterback Justin Herbert sidelined by a plantar fascia injury, Harbaugh said that Easton Stick will be starting at QB in his place. Harbaugh also said top pass rushers Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack will not be playing, either.

Under ordinary circumstances, Stick would be getting into a real stiff challenge against Macdonald's lethally-tricky new defensive scheme . However, it's unlikely we will see coach Mike-Mac reveal much of the repertoire he's got up his sleeves in an ultimately meaningless exhibition game.

As for his own lineup plans, Macdonald has indicated starting QB Geno Smith is not expected to play, but other starters will.
