Liverpool have agreed to sell attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho to Brentford in a deal worth up to £27.5 million ($35m), including add-ons.

The transfer represents a significant profit for Liverpool, who originally signed Carvalho from Fulham for £7 million ($8.9m) in 2022.

The transfer includes a 17.5% sell-on clause, meaning Liverpool will receive a percentage of any future profit if Brentford decide to sell Carvalho.

    Significant profit for Liverpool

Fulham, Carvalho’s previous club, will also benefit from the deal, earning 20% of Liverpool’s profit above £5 million ($6.3m). This translates to around £3.1 million for Fulham if Liverpool receives the full £27.5 million ($35m).

Carvalho, who struggled to find a regular spot in Liverpool’s lineup, will have a fresh start at Brentford, where he is expected to play a central role.

The move is seen as a positive outcome for all parties involved, providing Carvalho with more playing time and allowing Liverpool to make a tidy profit.

The deal has been confirmed by reputable sources, including journalist Paul Joyce, who has backed the reports initially shared by Portuguese outlet A Bola.

Carvalho’s departure marks the end of his brief stint at Anfield, but it opens the door for new opportunities as he joins Brentford, a club known for its strong development of young talent.
