Caleb Williams took the field in a Chicago Bears uniform for the first time on Saturday, and he didn't disappoint.

Williams engineered two drives (both ending in field goals) versus the Buffalo Bills before being pulled by head coach Matt Eberflus.

The No. 1 overall pick finished 4-7 with 95 yards and also rushed for 13 yards on a scramble during the second drive.

The best sign for Chicago was that Williams displayed exceptional pocket presence on both drives, belying his 22 years.

On the second play from scrimmage, Williams looked to be swallowed up in the pocket and surely sacked when he suddenly slipped out from the massive pressure and successfully threw the ball away.

Williams's next two passes were clutch completions.

First, Williams threw a 12-yard dart to stud wideout D.J. Moore to convert a third and long. Next, Williams pulled off a magical shovel pass (once again under duress) to DeAndre Swift, which ended in a 42-yard gain.

Those two consecutive plays were a sneak peek into Williams's incredible instincts as a quarterback.

The highlights of Williams's second drive were a 26-yard completion to tight end Cole Kmet, plus the aforementioned QB scramble, which allowed Williams to show off his speed. Williams wasn't able to connect with talented rookie Rome Odunze , but he did target Odunze on two occasions.

Overall, Williams provided a little bit of everything on Saturday, and Bears fans have to be thrilled about what they witnessed.
