Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill managed to revive his career in Nashville, but the team decided to part ways with the veteran signal-caller after the 2023 campaign.

Tannehill's Titans tenure got off to a fantastic start, as he helped lead Tennessee to two division titles and three playoff appearances in total from 2019-2021, one of which included an improbable run to the AFC Championship Game in 2019.

However, thanks to injuries, a lackluster supporting cast and ineffective play, the quarterback's final two years with the team were miserable. And, with the emergence of 2023 second-round pick, Will Levis, the Titans let Tannehill walk in free agency in 2024.

It was assumed Tannehill would find a job somewhere in 2024, but as of right now he remains a free agent. Tannehill recently touched on why that is the case during an appearance on the "Scoop City" podcast.

"Right now, I think it's going to depend on situation," Tannehill said. "At this point, I've been blessed to play 12 years and be where I'm at, so I'm not just going to continue to add years to add years. I want to be in a situation that I feel really good about. I'm not ruling anything out, but it's going to have to be the right situation for me and my family."

"Nothing really felt right through free agency," Tannehill added. "And through that, I had a lot of peace with it, that nothing outstanding jumped up and I just said, hey, I'll take a step back and if something comes up down the road, whether that's training camp — maybe a guy goes down on a team and gives me a call, you never know what's going to happen."

Despite his struggles in recent years, Tannehill would provide a fantastic backup option for a team in need. But clearly he's going to continue to wait things out and hope for the perfect situation.
