Patriots cornerback takes shot at his old team while praising New England

New England Patriots cornerback Marco Wilson joined the team late last season, appearing in just one game with the team after being released by the Arizona Cardinals.

The 2021 fourth-round pick out of Florida was a starter during his time with the Cardinals, playing no less than 14 games or 69% of the team's defensive snaps in any season.

Now that he's with New England, he's been getting opportunities at outside cornerback opposite Christian Gonzalez with Jonathan Jones dealing with injuries.

Wilson is ecstatic to be with the Patriots, and while praising them, took a bit of a shot at his old team.

"I feel like this is a real start to my real NFL journey," Wilson said after a recent training camp session ( via. Chris Mason ). I feel like I’m finally on a team that takes things seriously inside the building and off the field."

The Patriots, despite moving on from head coach Bill Belichick this offseason, still have a lot of his aura left over in the building. Obviously, there are a ton of players still in the building who played under him, but a number of coaches who worked for him as well.

New England's reputation isn't the cleanest, but the Cardinals have also had plenty of issues in recent years.

It's good to know that one of the newer players in the building is appreciative of how Jerod Mayo and company are running things now. That was a real concern when the team was moving on from Belichick.
