One of the few acquisitions the New York Yankees made at the Major League Baseball trade deadline a few weeks ago has already been designated for assignment.

After appearing in five outings since joining the Yankees , right-handed pitcher Enyel De Los Santos had a whopping 14.21 ERA.

New York designated De Los Santos for assignment among several roster moves Wednesday.

The Yankees gave up minor league outfielder Brandon Lockridge in the last-minute deal with the San Diego Padres.

The final straw for the Yankees may have been his most recent outing against the MLB-worst Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

The 28-year-old reliever gave up seven earned runs in 1.2 innings, helping Chicago to a 12-2 win — their biggest margin of victory in a season where they project to break the record for most losses.

Across his final three outings for the Yankees, De Los Santos allowed 10 earned runs across 4.0 innings pitched.

With Jazz Chisholm officially going to the injured list as well, the Yankees have just one healthy player from the trade deadline — reliever Mark Leiter Jr.

The Yankees also recalled right-handed pitcher Will Warren and infielder Oswald Peraza to take the roster spots of Chisholm and De Los Santos.
