NFL analyst believes Miami Dolphins should put Erik Ezukanma on trade block

When the Miami Dolphins drafted wide receiver Erik Ezukanma in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft , the hope was that, with some development, they could round out their wide receiver corps. They already had the home-run speed threat in Tyreek Hill , and the all-around skill receiver with Jaylen Waddle. They were just missing a bigger-bodied possession receiver to even things out.

Unfortunately for both Ezukanma and the Dolphins that hope has not been realized in the young receiver’s two seasons with the team. Injuries have seriously derailed the receiver’s development, and have led to him only seeing 19 total snaps over two seasons. Again this year, Ezukanma has been injured and has missed portions of the Dolphins’ training camp.

With a lack of production and a lack of playing time, it may be time for the Dolphins and Ezukanma to part ways, and at least one NFL analyst agrees. The Athletic’s Ryan Fowler believes the Miami Dolphins should put Ezukanma on the trade block and try to get something back for their investment – as difficult a proposition as that might be.

Fowler argues that if the Dolphins wait any longer to deal Ezukanma, they run the risk of further diminishing his already low trade value. With every game that Ezukanma doesn’t get snaps, and with every wide receiver who outperforms him, his value continues to decrease. The Dolphins should bite the bullet now and make sure they can get something back in return for the young receiver – while they still can.
