Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada is ready for a fresh start at Old Trafford this season.

Cerrada completed a controversial move across the city from arch rivals Manchester City as part of a club rebuild implemented by United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The move to bring in Cerrada, who previously worked as chief football operations office at the Etihad Stadium, forms part of major behind-the-scenes changes including Dan Ashworth joining as Sporting Director and Jason Wilcox as Technical Director.

Man United kickoff the 2024/25 Premier League season against Fulham on August 16 as Erik ten Hag looks to lead the club in a positive direction in the months ahead.

Victory in the FA Cup final on the last day of the 2023/24 domestic season effectively saved ten Hag's job and the club have backed him in the transfer window.

Dutch star Joshua Zirkzee has joined from Serie A side Bologna, alongside a brand new defensive unit, following a double move for Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui , plus Leny Yoro from Lille.

However, despite an expensively assembled squad, Cerrada was keen to press on the importance of the fan base, as the new campaign gets underway.

"This is an eventful time for the club. Everything we do has to help us to perform on the pitch and that is our number one priority" he stated in programme notes ahead of facing Fulham .

"It's so important, particularly in times of change, that our bond with you as supporters is closer than ever. This will continue to be an important priority for us. All of you must be central to everything we do.

"This is your club. I promise I will always remember that and treat it with the care, dedication and respect it deserves."

Cerrada's words will be major relief to United fans, following years of protest and disillusion towards the club's ownership, and the arrival of multiple new signings adds a much needed freshness at Old Trafford.
