As the country's sole Premier League rights-holder, NBCUniversal has been at the forefront of the soccer explosion in the United States for over a decade.

Now entering their 11th season as one of the EPL's top broadcast partners, NBC continues to innovate to bring the world's richest and most visible soccer league. Along with that, the company's streaming service Peacock has become a major player in carrying the league's slate of games to U.S. fans.

Unfortunately, the way NBC has mapped out its distribution of Premier League inventory has caused some backlash, as there is not one hub to access every game of the Premier League season, causing fans frustration in their attempts to watch games throughout a full campaign.

What soccer games and leagues are on Peacock?

NBCUniversal has been the home for Premier League matches in the United States since they first acquired the rights to the English top flight in 2013. Since signing on as the official rights holder, NBC has been a groundbreaker in the soccer broadcast space, from on-site pitchside coverage to holding annual fanfests across the United States to player and coach exclusives.

However, their distribution of matches has been the source of headaches for some fans, as there is no one place to access all matches throughout the season. Unlike other broadcasters, such as CBS Sports who put every single match on Paramount+, NBC spreads its Premier League inventory around across TV channels such as NBC and USA Network, and streaming service Peacock.

For fans in the United States to access every match of the 2024/25 season, they must have both a cable subscription with NBC and USA Network, and a subscription to Peacock.

Added to NBC's roster in 2024 is a new women's league in the United States, the USL Super League. Debuting in mid-August, the league has partnered with Peacock to be the official home of game broadcasts, with eight teams part of the league's inaugural season.

It is unknown how long the rights partnership lasts for, other than the announcement calling it a "multi-year deal," so long as the league survives past its inaugural campaign.

How much does Peacock cost to watch soccer?

There is no one place to watch every Premier League match of the 2024/25 season. While many games are televised across NBC's various TV channels, most of the inventory is left to the company's streaming service Peacock.

Peacock is offered in both a monthly and yearly subscription. The annual service with ads offers a discount of around $16 for the year, or around 17 percent.

There is also a premium option to secure ad-free programming.

Student discount for Premier League on Peacock

Peacock does currently offer a significant student discount, allowing current college students to sign up for an annual base plan with ads for just $1.99 per month, a 75 percent discount from the regular price.

When signing up for the service, Peacock redirects users to SheerID to verify student status.

Can you get Peacock for free?

As of the start of the 2024/25 season, Peacock does not offer a free trial for the general public.

However, some wireless, internet providers, and other premium services boast special offers to secure Peacock at no cost. For example, a subscription to tee time app GolfNow's premium service comes with a year of Peacock, while signing up for Instacart's premium service does the same.

The only way to watch Premier League matches for free across the 2024/25 season is by signing up for the free trial of Fubo to access EPL matches which are selected for television broadcast.
