ESPN's annual High School Kickoff returns for its 15th year, with Woodward Academy and Carrollton High School kicking things off Friday night.

This is the first of six games that will be played from August 16-25 across the ESPN family of networks, featuring some of the nation's top high school talent. There are 28 players ranked in the ESPN 300 and ESPN Junior 300 who will be playing, and 11 of the ESPN 300 players have commitments to top Division I programs.

Woodward Academy was the 6A runner-up in Georgia last season. The War Eagles return senior ATH Josiah Abdullah (fielding over 20 offers) and a trio of players with NFL fathers, including senior WR and Notre Dame commit Jerome Bettis Jr. (Jerome Bettis), senior CB RJ Harrison (Rodney Harrison) and junior RB Amarri Irvin (Sedrick Irvin).

Carrollton QB Julian Lewis reclassified and is the No. 2 ranked player in the senior class after reclassifying and is one of the team's USC commits along with senior DB Shamar Arnoux. The Trojans have a strong junior class led by the likes of No. 19 ranked safety Zelus Hicks – S, alongside No. 75 CB Dorian Dorian Barney (Alabama commit), No. 138 WR Ryan Mosley, and No. 265 OC Zykie Helton.
