Olympic champion Noah Lyles and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill have a lot in common.  Both like to talk and are not shy about sharing their opinions in the media. Also, Lyles and Hill are phenomenal athletes.

Most sports fans knew a saga would erupt after Tyreek Hill told Kay Adams earlier in the week that he could beat Lyles in a race.  He also encouraged Lyles to discontinue the talk about how NBA and NFL teams are not truly World Champions.  According to Lyles, track stars can say that because their competitors come from all over the world; whereas NFL and NBA teams are located in North America.

Lyles retorted by saying he did not know Hill's real name, calling him the Cheetah guy.  And days later, when he appeared on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco's podcast, Lyles kept up the attacks on Hill.

He encouraged Hill to set up a time to race if he was serious.  Talking on the internet does constitute sincerity, according to Lyles.  Calling his agent and organizing a time and place are the appropriate actions.

Hill is not one to back down from a challenge.  The Dolphins are weeks away from opening the 2024 NFL season so he (or his head coach Mike McDaniel) may not think it is in his best interest to settle the verbal score with Lyles right now.
