Ange Postecoglu makes bold Tottenham trophy prediction for 2024/25

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu is full of bullish confidence ahead of their Premier League season start.

Spurs have been forced to wait to get the ball rolling in their opening game of the campaign as Postecoglu's side head to newly-promoted Leicester City.

The Australian was left torn at the end of his first season in charge, as Spurs finished fifth in the EPL, missing out on a top four spot and UEFA Champions League qualification by two points.

That frustration has been channelled into achieving his goal in the coming months and bringing Spurs back into Europe's top tournament.

However, an improved league placing is not the only thing on Postecoglu's mind, as he looks to end Tottenham's 16-year wait for a trophy.

"Usually in my second season I win things. That's the whole idea. The first year is about establishing principles and creating a foundation", he told an interview with Sky Sports .

"Hopefully the second year is about going onto win things. Of course it's easier said than done, particularly in the Premier League and the competitions we're in.

"That's always the way I look at it, the second year you should be in a position to push on, depending on how the first year has gone."

Postecoglu's comments are backed up by his recent club record, winning the J League title with Yokohama F Marinos in his second season in charge in 2019, and he won successive league titles in his two seasons at Celtic before joining Spurs last summer.
