The Los Angeles Dodgers widely are considered to be one of the top contenders to win the World Series this season.

While this is the case, even they could use an upgrade. Los Angeles has had some troubles with the shortstop position over the last two seasons and still could use an upgrade. The Dodgers have been linked to a handful of players and even attempted to have superstar Mookie Betts take over the position before he suffered an injury earlier this season.

The Dodgers likely will look for an upgrade this upcoming offseason and one player who could make some sense is Toronto Blue Jays superstar shortstop Bo Bichette. Los Angeles has been linked to him before and USA Today Sports' Bob Nightengale reported that the Blue Jays are "expected" to entertain trade offers for him.

"The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to entertain trade offers this winter for shortstop Bo Bichette, who has no plans to stay in Toronto once he’s a free agent after the 2025 season."

Bichette is having a down year this season but is a two-time All-Star and led the American League in total base hits in both 2021 and 2022. If he becomes available, he is the exact type of player who could fill the Dodgers' biggest roster hole.

Los Angeles could end up winning the World Series this year but could be even better in 2025. If Bichette becomes available, the Dodgers should do whatever it costs to get a deal done.
