The Philadelphia Eagles had some major voids to fill along their offensive line during the offseason, and that depth could be tested early in 2024.

Mekhi Becton, the former first-round pick of the New York Jets who signed with the Eagles this offseason, reportedly left practice early Sunday with an injury to his right leg.

It’s concerning because Becton, who ran away with the position battle at starting right guard for the Eagles in training camp, wheres a bulky brace on his right knee. The Eagles did appear to get some good news, however, from the training staff:

Eagles injuries are piling up with one week remaining in the preseason. Fellow guard Landon Dickerson was also hobbled, though he was able to finish practice, according to a report by Jeff Kerr of CBSSports.com . Tyler Steen, who has been competing with Becton for reps at right guard, was carted off with an ankle injury during Thursday’s preseason game with the Patriots . Among the team’s rash of injured players are a pair of wide receivers, John Ross and Johnny Wilson, who are both in concussion protocol.

With both Becton and Steen out of action, veteran Brett Toth ran with the starters to close out Sunday’s practice, according to Kerr's report.

Though the offensive starters haven’t played, Eagles’ linemen have looked shaky at times during the team’s two preseason games. There is plenty of work to do in that department between now and the Eagles’ season-opener against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil on Sept. 6.
