Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is not expected to return as the head coach of Team USA, per Marc Stein . Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and LA Clippers head coach Ty Lue are considered to be frontrunners for the job.

Kerr has been an amazing coach in the NBA, as he was the coach of the Warriors during their dynasty, and won four championships with them.

Kerr did fine as a head coach for Team USA as well, as the team was able to win every single game in their Olympic season. However, fans, players, and critics alike all believed he could have done much better.

A couple of games, especially the final game against Serbia, were too close for comfort, and it didn't seem like Kerr knew what to do. His plays weren’t working, so the players had to take the game in their own hands, and let the players who were hot get the ball.

His constant benching of reigning champion Jayson Tatum was what got him scrutinized the most. Tatum was the second best player on the Tokyo Olympics squad, so he was already proven to be a great Olympian. There were also a bunch of times where Tatum would have helped immensely and Kerr did not play him.

This is honestly a good move by Team USA. Kerr is a good coach, but it does seem like his fame as a great coach is held up by the Warriors dynasty, not his coaching.
