Bears stunning trade would land ex-Eagles two-time Pro Bowl select

There's a lot to like about the Chicago Bears heading into the 2024 National Football League season.

Chicago won seven games last season and responded this offseason with a handful of moves. The Bears significantly improved their offense by landing Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Keenan Allen, and D'Andre Swift.

The Bears' offense should be great in 2024, but they still could use another boost on defense if they want to take a massive step forward. Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine suggested a trade for New York Jets linebacker Haason Reddick could transform the NFC North .

"On paper, the Chicago Bears have done a lot to be a completely different team in 2024," Ballentine said. "Caleb Williams has looked great in the preseason, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze change the dynamic of the passing game and the defense was already making strides under Matt Eberflus last season...The Bears' defense will have to take another step forward if the team is going to win the division. One final opportunity to push them to the next level would be working out a trade for Haason Reddick.

"Former NFL executive Scott Pioli said in an appearance on Good Morning Football that the Bears were one of the teams that was pursuing Matthew Judon in trade talks with the Patriots. Now Reddick remains the most obvious trade piece left on the board."

It seems unlikely that Reddick will be moved, but he would be a great option for Chicago. He was named a Pro Bowler in each of the last two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and hasn't had under 11 sacks since 2020. The Bears should see what they can do.
