Davante Adams fantasy football outlook ahead of the 2024 NFL season

The Las Vegas Raiders lost and added some pieces to the wide receivers room this offseason, but one thing remains the same: Davante Adams is the clear-cut WR1 on the depth chart and is still one of the best in the league.

Adams had a down year last season for his standards. The six-time Pro Bowler hauled in 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns and ranked as the WR10 overall in PPR, according to Fantasy Pros .

The drop in production was not his fault, though, as Adams had to endure the failed Jimmy Garoppolo experiment and a fourth-round rookie in Aidan O'Connell. He still has plenty left in the tank.

Adams' top-10 fantasy finish with subpar quarterback play should produce some optimism for his fantasy outlook in 2024, but there are some concerns.

    Ceiling: High-end WR1

    Floor: High-end WR2

Despite Adams being the No. 1 receiving option, Las Vegas still has other talented and explosive pass-catchers who will command targets. Jakobi Meyers is looking to build off an excellent first season with the team, while rookie tight end Brock Bowers has All-Pro potential. Adams will still likely lead the team in targets but don't be shocked if Meyers and Bowers also generate a good share of them.

The quarterback competition between Gardner Minshew and O'Connell concluded on Sunday, as head coach Antonio Pierce opted to go with the more experienced Minshew as his QB1. The 28-year-old started 13 games last season for the Colts, throwing for over 3,300 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Minshew isn't the most exciting player, but he'll get the job done and command the offense efficiently. Michael Pittman Jr. posted career-highs in receptions (109) and yards (1,152) with Minshew under center, and there is no denying that Adams is a far better receiver than Pittman.

After a WR10 finish in 2023 with a chaotic quarterback situation, it's hard to envision Adams finishing outside of the top ten, barring a decline due to age.

The 31-year-old has shown no decline in his game, though, and is still one of the most complete wide receivers in the NFL. If Minshew can be just slightly better than what the Raiders had last season, Adams could be one of the best fantasy performers in all of football.

Even if the future Hall of Famer deals with more incompetent quarterback play, he should still be a high-end WR2, at worst.
