Overlooked Miami Dolphins player projected to earn massive payday

The Miami Dolphins have a sleeper of a player potentially set to earn a massive contract extension in 2024.

“Sleeper” gets used there in the sense that most fans aren’t really focusing on offensive linemen on one-year, prove-it deals right now.

But Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski certainly is—he’s singled out Dolphins guard Isaiah Wynn as one of just 10 prove-it players leaguewide possibly set to break the bank on extensions:

“Wynn can calm the waters by getting healthy and settling one of those interior spots. Then, he'll have another season to prove he's capable of staying in the lineup to earn a long-term deal.”

There’s certainly an opportunity for Wynn to step into the fray on his one-year deal and turn some heads. He was the 23rd pick in 2018 for a reason, yet he hasn’t been able to make double-digit appearances more than twice in a season so far due to injuries.

Wynn is currently on the physically unable to perform list as he makes his way back, but there’s opportunity in Miami—starting center Aaron Brewer has a hand injury, so now Liam Eichenberg and others are or will be out of position.

Even so, Wynn getting right for an extended period of time would be an anomaly. Yet he would indeed receive plenty of praise if he gets back and helps spur a flashy Tua Tagovailoa-led offense to the playoffs.
