Myles Garrett needs 12 sacks in 2024 to tie record set by NFL legend

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett needs 12 sacks in 2024 to join exclusive company.  New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor is the only other NFL player with 12 or more sacks per season for five consecutive seasons. Taylor played for 13 seasons and earned 142 career sacks.

Garrett would have already achieved this feat except for a 10-sack season in 2019 that broke up his record-setting efforts.  The reigning DPOTY has 88.5 career sacks in seven seasons.  If he reaches 100 sacks this season, he will also be the youngest to achieve it.  Garrett turns 29 on December 29.

Garrett is already the sack leader in Browns franchise history surpassing Bill Glass in 2023. Glass played from 1962 to 1968 and had 77.5.

Myles Garrett would trade all of the records and individual accomplishments for a Super Bowl for the city of Cleveland.  During his career, he has become an ambassador for the city, putting his name and time into philanthropic efforts Garrett is also a minority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers .
