It doesn't sound like the San Francisco 49ers will be at full strength when the 2024 National Football League season kicks off.

There are just a few weeks to go until the new season finally kicks off. It has been a long offseason and there have been plenty of rumors and speculation about the 49ers. Much of the chatter over the last few months has been about star receiver Brandon Aiyuk, but there is more going on in San Francisco.

The 49ers are in a position to be one of the best teams in football once again in 2024, but they won't be at full strength when the season kicks off as veteran lineman Jon Feliciano is expected to begin the season on the Injured Reserve, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.

"49ers OL Jon Feliciano had recent knee surgery and will likely open the season on IR, Kyle Shanahan said," Maiocco said.

Feliciano is a nine-year National Football League veteran and joined the 49ers ahead of the 2023 season. He appeared in 16 games, including seven starts. He's expected to play a solid role with San Francisco once again in 2024, but it's unclear when he will be able to take the field.

The 32-year-old was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the then-Oakland Raiders. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders before joining the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2019 campaign. He spent three years with the Bills and then joined the New York Giants for the 2022 campaign.

Hopefully, he is able to get back on the field in the not-so-distant future,
