Zach Wilson has gotten back into Broncos competition and now could win it

For much of the summer, the Denver Broncos seemed to be deciding between Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham with the main question being, how soon would Nix be ready to take the reigns?

Based on what we have seen in camp and preseason games, it has been assumed that Stidham is, at worst, the team's No. 2 quarterback. But that assumption seems to be changing based on the play that most counted out, Zach Wilson .

Wilson has drawn the praise of Sean Payton all offseason but his time with the New York Jets has always left most fans feeling he's just not cut out to be an NFL quarterback. But sometimes, a change of scenery is all that's needed.

In parts of two preseason games, Wilson has completed 12 of 19 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown pass. Will that be enough to take the backup job from Stidham?

Broncos' No. 2 QB spot comes down to final preseason game

Bo Nix is going to be the starting quarterback for the Broncos. Payton has yet to announce it officially, but to suggest otherwise is just pointless. However, the No. 2 job is very much up for grabs.

Wilson has picked himself up off the mat and is neck and neck with Stidham at this point. Many may feel Wilson should be given the spot for his potential upside, which is higher than that of Stidham.

The Broncos have one preseason game left against the Arizona Cardinals. The team could choose to rest Nix for the entire game and give Wilson and Stidham each one-half of the action to see who wins the job.

    My money is on Wilson.
