After an impressive preseason Week 1 performance against the Minnesota Vikings , Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has been sidelined with a foot injury, leaving his status for Week 1 of the 2024 season up in the air.

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic , Bowers sat out Tuesday's practice with what is being called a sore foot. On Wednesday, Bowers was sidelined once again for the team's latest session, per Tashan Reed of The Athletic .

With concern starting to mount, head coach Antonio Pierce was asked about Bowers after Wednesday's practice and if he would be ready to roll by Week 1, which falls on Sunday, Sept. 8. Thankfully, the update was positive.

"Yeah, just precautionary," Pierce said when asked if his rookie tight end would be ready for Week 1. "Got a foot injury and we just want to protect him."

As of right now, it would appear there is nothing to be worried about when it comes to Bowers' injury. He has a little over two weeks to get ready before the Raiders start their regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers .

The No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Bowers enters his first season with no shortage of hype, with many considering him the best tight end prospect to come out in years.

We've seen flashes of that all offseason long, with Bowers showing what he can do in practice. He then carried that over into his preseason debut against the Vikings, when he tallied two catches for 25 yards while showing his versatility and yards after catch ability.

Bowers, who lined up in the slot, in-line, on the outside and in the backfield, is expected to have a snigificant role right away in the offense. Assuming the quarterback play is up to snuff, Bowers could have a big rookie season.
