Stephen Nedoroscik took home two bronze medals at the 2024 Olympics. Now, he will look to stake a claim to the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

ABC announced Nedoroscik as the first celebrity to join the cast of "Dancing with the Stars" for the show's 33rd season.

News of Nedoroscik's involvement was revealed on "Good Morning America." The program teased it would reveal its first celebrity contestant for the show on Thursday, and Nedoroscik's involvement was broadcast shortly after.

Nedoroscik's participation in "Dancing with the Stars" will keep the show's rich tradition of athlete involvement going for another season.

Nedoroscik said he is "very excited" about joining the cast and detailed that he had immediately said "yes" when asked to join the program.

The 25-year-old also expressed an interest in trying to incorporate some of his gymnastics skills — and specifically, some of his moves on the pommel horse — into his routines for the show.

"I'm hoping to bring some of them," Nedoroscik responded when asked about the possibility by GMA's Robin Roberts. "I want to bring some flares, I want to bring some of that gymnastics. Maybe a backflip or handstand. I want to have fun with it."

Beyond his potential dance moves, Nedoroscik believes his demeanor on the dance floor will be similar to what he showcased at the Olympics. That means viewers will likely see his pre-event routine, which involves breathing exercises and visualization that help to keep him calm.

Nedoroscik is also planning to wear his signature glasses, which earned him notoriety for his Clark Kent look. It might not always be the same pair, however, as he may look to "have fun with it."

"I'm scared they might fly off is the thing, but maybe we could do a gadget [to] keep them on," Nedoroscik said. "Maybe [I'll] get a new pair of glasses, match the theme, right? That's what I'm thinking."

Regardless of Nedoroscik's plan, it seems like his personality will shine through during the competition. Fans of the "pommel horse guy" will certainly love to see that.

Nedoroscik is making history as the first male gymnast to compete on "Dancing with the Stars."

That said, seven female gymnasts have participated in the competition before him. That includes Simone Biles, who has more medals than any other USA gymnast in history.

Below is a look at the gymnasts who have appeared on "Dancing with the Stars."

'Dancing with the Stars' cast 2024

Nedoroscik is the only member of the 2024 "Dancing with the Stars" cast to be announced thus far. The rest of the participants will be revealed by Sept. 4, just under two weeks after the Nedoroscik reveal.

The show will begin airing on Sept. 17, so there won't be much of a turnaround for the celebrities looking to take home the Mirrorball Trophy.
