There isn't much left for Stephen Curry to accomplish in his basketball career.

After winning Olympic gold in Paris, Curry's basketball resume includes four NBA titles, two league MVPs, one Finals MVP and a firm hold of first place on the list of NBA's all-time 3-point leaders. While Curry — and his successes — have been synonymous with the Warriors, there is growing speculation about him moving on.

As Golden State retools to field a competitive roster around Curry, fans have an investigative eye on the 36-year-old's social media activity. After an Instagram collaboration with LeBron James raised eyebrows, a change in Curry's Instagram bio is sounding off alarms.

Is Stephen Curry leaving the Warriors?

Curry remains under contract with the Warriors through the 2025-26 season, meaning if he were to move on sooner, it would be via trade. A curious change to Curry's Instagram profile is leading some to believe he is seeking a change.

As pointed out by a Curry fan page with the handle @GameOnSteph_ on X (formerly Twitter), Curry has removed "Guard for the @Warriors" from his bio, replacing it with "Olympic Gold Medalist."

Why might Curry remove his Warriors affiliation from his Instagram bio? There are a few potential reasons.

If Curry wanted to keep his bio section brief and limited to two lines, there's a chance he made a one-for-one swap to add in his most recent accomplishment in the basketball space. There is also the logic that Curry views Olympic gold as a more significant honor than an NBA team affiliation.

It could, of course, be an attempt to put some pressure on the Warriors front office as well.

For those looking to read between the lines, there could be something deeper rooted in Curry's removal of his Warriors affiliation. We're not far removed from Klay Thompson removing Warriors content from his Instagram feed before moving on via free agency.

That said, Curry's feed still features plenty of Warriors content.

Regardless of what the Instagram change may or may not mean, it does bring up a very real concern about Golden State's immediate future. After finishing with a 46-36 record and missing the NBA Playoffs in 2024, the Warriors were unable to make significant offseason upgrades to their roster.

While Curry is 36, he is still performing at an All-NBA level. Golden State's status as a contender depends on contributions from younger players like Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski.

As it stands, the Warriors are projected to finish in the bottom half of the Western Conference. As a generational talent, that might not be enough for Curry, who could add to his legacy with another deep postseason run.

For now, there may not be enough smoke to sound off all alarms, but given how the offseason has played out for Golden State, Curry's social media activity understandably has fans on alert.
