Patriots made multiple offensive line changes for Thursday's practice

The New England Patriots have been trying to find the right offensive line combination throughout the offseason after letting offensive tackle Trent Brown leave in free agency.

In most of their training camp sessions and in the preseason so far they've had Vederian Lowe at left tackle, Sidy Sow at left guard, David Andrews at center, Michael Onwenu at right guard and Chukwuma Okorafor at right tackle. That line hasn't been great with the team's top quarterbacks struggling to move the offense behind their protection.

However, after Lowe suffered an injury during Wednesday's practice , Thursday's group was quite different.

Okorafor flipped to left tackle, Sow and Andrews remained at their left guard and center spots, fourth-round pick Layden Robinson slid in at right guard and Onwenu kicked out to right tackle.

Honestly, that lineup could end up being better than the one they've been using because it definitely makes one of the tackle spots stronger with Onwenu taking back over on the right, where he played most of his snaps in 2023. Sow and Robinson are young and still adjusting to the game as second-year and first-year players, respectively.

If New England wants to have any success in 2024, they need to find the best mix and stick with it.
