New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen has been under fire from fans and media members who think he will be the first coach fired next season .

Perhaps one of the most consistent things about Saints training camp this year is the continued speculation about how the team might weaponize the versatile Taysom Hill in 2024.

Notice that said “weaponize” and didn't specify Hill would help strictly on the offensive side of the ball.

During a recent appearance on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams , Allen revealed that he campaigned for Hill to get snaps at linebacker in the past and noted how he would use the 34-year-old veteran.

"I've thought about that. Early on, we kind of thought about making him a SAM linebacker," Allen said. "I'd play him at the SAM linebacker. And I'd rush him about 50 percent of the time."

For what it’s worth, Allen revealed that then-head coach Sean Payton simply "wasn't having it," though.

This is, wildly enough, not the strangest headline written about Hill since training camp opened. Allen has already revealed that Hill will play at least five different positions next season.

And former superstar quarterback Drew Brees? He wants to see Hill get more snaps at quarterback, supplanting Derek Carr at times.

Given the general vibe around the Saints from outsiders right now, Hill’s usage could end up being one of the most interesting things about the team in the early weeks of the season – especially if he happens to play something other than offense.
