    Colts roster cuts tracker: Keeping tabs on every 2024 decision

    The Indianapolis Colts will begin cutting the roster as they work to get down to 53 players before the deadline Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

    Because the Colts wrapped up their preseason Thursday night before the rest of the league, they have a few extra days to make decisions on the roster.

    Keep in mind the different verbiage when a player is let go as well. A released player is a vested veteran— those who have accrued four seasons in the NFL. They immediately become free agents.

    A waived player has not accrued four seasons and must go through waivers. All other teams will have a chance to claim waived players on their 53-man roster by 12:00 p.m. ET on Aug. 28.

    The Colts are 15th in the waiver order so half of the league will have the chance to potentially claim players they like after being waived.
