Danielson won the Owen Hart Tournament to become the top contender for Strickland's title. Debuting for AEW in 2021 after years with WWE, Danielson has teased retiring from full-time wrestling following this year. “The American Dragon” is banged up and would be happy to win gold. If not, he is content.

“So, I’ve been in AEW now for three years, and I’ve never won a championship. The story is, I’m wrestling this match, it’s career vs title. If I lose, I’m forced to retire. It’s something I’m ready for, I’m kind of ready to be done,” Danielson said on The Nikki & Brie show via Fightful .

"Timeless" Toni Storm was betrayed by protege and 2024 Women's Owen Hart Cup winner Mariah May after months of friendship. May brutally attacked Storm and made her intentions known of wanting the AEW Women's World Title. Two Stardom alum are ready to leave it all in the ring.

Meanwhile, MJF won the AEW International Title and rebranded it to the American belt after beating Will Ospreay in a match that lasted almost one hour. Back as a heel following a brief face run, MJF looks to spoil Ospreay's homecoming.

Britt Baker returns for the first time since September 2023 to challenge Mercedes Mone for the AEW TBS Title. An AEW original, Baker looks to end Mone's quick reign and prove she is one of the best female stars in the company.
