It will be a new era for both SMU and Nevada when they face off in Week 1 of the college football season.

After two consecutive 2-10 seasons, Nevada brought in Texas defensive coordinator Jeff Choate as its new head coach to provide a spark for the Wolf Pack.

SMU is entering a new era in a new conference. After winning the American Athletic Conference last season, the Mustangs left to become a member of the ACC. After finishing 12-2 last season, the team will hope their success carries over against even tougher opponents.

SMU is returning many of their major playmakers from last season, while Nevada will hope to reinvent their defensive identity under Choate.
