Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dismissed the idea of signing Napoli's star striker Victor Osimhen, backing his current squad of attackers to lead the charge this season.

Despite rumors linking Arsenal with a move for the Nigerian forward, Arteta has made it clear that he's confident in the abilities of the players already at his disposal.

Arteta's recent comments have put an end to speculation about Arsenal's interest in Osimhen.

Instead, he emphasized his trust in Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard to fill the striker role.

Arteta's faith in Jesus, Havertz, and Trossard

Speaking about the potential transfer, Arteta said, "We have some great strikers. Gabi (Gabriel) Jesus is there, Kai (Havertz) has played there a lot of minutes, Leo (Leandro Trossard) has played there and we believe we have all the necessities as well. We fully trust our players."

As Arsenal aim to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, some fans and pundits have argued that signing a new number nine could be the key to dethroning Pep Guardiola's side.

However, Arteta's confidence suggests he believes the current squad is capable of achieving that goal without additional reinforcements.

With the summer transfer window nearing its close, Arsenal will soon face Aston Villa at Villa Park before returning to the Emirates to take on Brighton. As the Gunners gear up for these crucial matches, Arteta's faith in his strikers will be put to the test.
