Erik ten Hag explains Jadon Sancho's omission from Man Utd squad amid transfer speculation

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho was notably absent from the squad in their clash against Brighton, despite travelling with the team to the AMEX Stadium.

As the summer transfer window inches closer to its deadline, questions swirl around Sancho's future at Old Trafford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sancho was with the United squad but was not selected to start or even make the bench for the Brighton match.

This marks the second time he has been left out of the squad, following a similar omission in United's season opener against Fulham.

Manager Erik ten Hag addressed the situation, hinting that unresolved "issues" within the squad contributed to his decision. “I had a choice to make. We had some issues, we need a full squad. He's one of them and needs to compete for his position," Ten Hag explained, leaving the door open for further speculation.

Sancho, who returned to United last season after a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, has been linked with a potential move away from the club, with Juventus reportedly interested.

His exclusion from recent matches has only fueled rumors that he may seek a new challenge before the transfer window closes.

With United's next match against Liverpool on Sunday, all eyes will be on whether Sancho remains with the club or if he departs for a fresh start elsewhere.
