Veteran journeyman running back Darrynton Evans may have solidified his spot on the Buffalo Bills 53-man roster with a strong performance Saturday.

At the time of this writing, the fifth-year dual-threat back had showed off his versatility with three rushes for five yards and two receptions for 24 yards during the first half of action.

Capping off his big first half, Evans scored the team's first touchdown of the day. Receiving the ball from quarterback Ben DiNucci on a swing route, the former App State star made a man miss before rumbling into the end zone for the score.

Buffalo currently has a strong stable of running backs. James Cook and sensational rookie fourth-round pick, Ray Davis, have likely secured the top-two spots on the depth chart. Behind them, however, is some fierce competition for the third and fourth spots.

Evans is likely in a battle with Frank Gore Jr. for the fourth-string position behind veteran Ty Johnson. Given his abilities as a pass-catcher, he may prove quite valuable in 2024 as a third-down specialist for the Bills.
