Utah Jazz star sophomore center Walker Kessler seems to be not part of the team's long-term plan, per Eric Pincus .

Kessler has averaged around nine points, eight rebounds, two blocks and an assist over his two years in the league. Kessler was also third place for Rookie of the Year in 2023, and was first team All-Rookie that year as well.

Kessler is probably not part of the team’s long-term plan because of the number of big men they already have. They also drafted Kyle Filipowski out of Duke, who is a monster center that can rim protect, work the ball inside, rebound, and shoot from deep. Kessler is more of a traditional center, so he does not have the skillset that Filipowski does.

As for his possible top destination? The New Orleans Pelicans need a center desperately, and there have been rumors of Utah being a sleeper destination for All-Star Forward Brandon Ingram .

Wherever he goes, Kessler will provide a solid inside presence, and he still has a lot of time to grow and get better.
