The Boston Red Sox welcomed the Arizona Diamondbacks to Fenway Park on Sunday for an afternoon series finale, and Boston was handed a 7-5 loss.

After getting a number of double plays early in the game, Red Sox starter Tanner Houck allowed three runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth to blow the lead that the offense gave him through the first four innings.

Brennan Bernardino and Joely Rodriguez both got through scoreless innings each, but Lucas Sims gave up one run in the ninth to make any attempt at a comeback even more difficult.

The offense wasn't overly impressive in this one either. They totaled five hits and struck out 10 times.  All five of their runs came on home runs - a solo shot from Triston Casas (2-for-4) in the first inning, a three-run shot from Rafael Devers (1-for-4) in the fourth and a solo home run from Tyler O'Neill (1-for-4) in the ninth.

Connor Wong (1-for-4) could've driven in another if Masataka Yoshida (1-for-4) hadn't tried to stretch a double into a triple in that fourth inning.

This loss drops Boston to 67-62 at home and an abysmal 29-35 at home. They'll now host the Toronto Blue Jays for a four-game series starting with a doubleheader on Monday.
