Yankees superstar slugger on pace to break his own home run record

New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge is simply on another plane of existence right now.

The 32-year-old mammoth hit two more home runs — Nos. 50 and 51 — during Sunday's win over the Colorado Rockies at Yankee Stadium.

The six-time All-Star and likely MVP winner has six home runs in his last five games and after Sunday's performance, Judge is on pace to break his own record.

After setting the American League record for home runs in a single season at 62 during his MVP campaign in 2022, Judge is currently on pace for 63 home runs, according to Fangraphs .

It has been nothing short of a magical season for the Yankees captain. After giving the league an entire month's head start, Judge has put together the single greatest 100-game span in MLB history.

No player in MLB history has recorded a .375 batting average and 45 home runs in a 100-game span until Judge did so this season.

Entering Monday, the Yankees hold a 1.5-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the division and are currently the top seed in the American League playoff race at 77-54.

Judge has been on a miraculous tear this season, and his chase for 63 home runs is only going to add more drama to the mix over the final month of the season.
