Tottenham Hotspur have extended an invitation to American rap icon Lil Wayne after he surprised fans by revealing that Spurs are his "favorite team" in the Premier League.

The unexpected announcement came during an Instagram Live session, where the 41-year-old rapper was watching a match while working in his studio.

During the live broadcast, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., said, "I'm in the studio, I'm in here watching the Premier League. You already know my favorite team is Tottenham, I don't know if you know about that but that is my favorite team."

Lil Wayne's Spurs love goes viral

The revelation quickly caught the attention of Tottenham's social media team, who wasted no time responding. On X (formerly Twitter), the club posted, "Hey @LilTunechi, when you coming to a game?"

Lil Wayne, widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, is currently preparing for a U.S. tour, which kicks off on August 31 in Las Vegas.

Although his schedule is packed until October, a visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be on the horizon later in the year.

As for Tottenham, they have started their Premier League campaign with a draw against Leicester City and a resounding 4-0 victory over Everton.

Spurs are now gearing up for a crucial clash against Newcastle United on September 1, and who knows, perhaps Lil Wayne might make an appearance at a future game.
