After a game between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays was started and suspended months ago, the two teams resumed play on Monday afternoon, and Alex Cora's team was handed another loss.

Kutter Crawford started the game back in June, pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Nick Pivetta got the ball when the game resumed, allowing two runs (one earned on a George Springer home run).

Luis Garcia allowed another two runs (one earned) in 2/3 of an inning after Triston Casas failed to corral a ball hit to him at first base. Josh Winckowski pitched a scoreless, hitless ninth inning.

Boston's offense was quiet again in this one, recording just four hits and three walks. Their lone run came on a Jarren Duran solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. No Red Sox recorded multiple hits, and they struck out 11 total times.

This loss, Boston's fourth in a row, drops Cora's club to 67-63 on the season and 29-36 at home. The two teams will meet again later on Monday for the second game of the doubleheader.
